Red Light Therapy - She’s *it*
LET'S CHAT! I get a lot of questions about red light therapy, so I thought I'd chat a little to cover the basics and benefits of Red Light therapy, and how and when to use my favorite device. As we get into winter, red light therapy becomes much greater in value as many of us have less available sunlight, and typically spend most of our time indoors, and likely looking at screens. Screen time is unavoidable for most of us, but comes along with the downsides of being drowned in blue light all day, not only in our eyes but on our skin. This can have negative impacts on our hormone production, eye health, mood, and mitochondrial energy production - which can then domino effect into issues with digestion, detoxification, and ability to exit a stressed state.

Red Light Therapy (RLT) works at the cellular level, primarily by enhancing the efficiency of your mitochondria— (remember HS bio? the "powerhouse" of the cell). These mitochondria produce ATP (adenosine triphosphate), which is the energy currency your cells need to repair, regenerate, and function optimally. When your cells are exposed to specific wavelengths of red and near-infrared (NIR) light, your mitochondria become better at producing ATP. The result? Faster healing, enhanced tissue repair, and reduced inflammation. Here's how it breaks down:

How to use:
• I put my LUMEBOX about 6-12 inches from the area on my body (my kiddos, husband, etc) I want to treat.. Yes, it does work over your clothing, but best results say near bare skin is best!
Lumebox has 6 minute timer and a 12 minute timer - either will do! I would recommend starting at 6 and working your way up. If using on my kiddos for sickness (lets say a sore throat and I have them holding it in front of their throat), I will usually have them do it as long as they tolerate it. Sometimes 5 minutes, sometimes 12. • I encourage you to be consistent and use it a few times (best results from studies say 2-3 times a week) However - I typically use mine daily. I may only use it for ambiance some days - but more so than not, I use it for anti aging purpose at night before bed!
• STAY HYDRATED and of course make sure to get rest at night! Remember, RLT activates your cells!
