If you saw my review on Clearstem’s Shampoo then it probably comes as no surprise that I also have to give a thorough review on the conditioner. Just because a product from a certain brand works, it doesn’t mean I’m going to love them all. Which is absolutely the case for Clearstem skincare (not a fan, personally) but let’s be real - I do like the conditioner! Some things about it don’t make sense to me but I’ll touch on all of that below.

Things I like:

It works. Let’s be real - that’s the gist of what you want to know and yes, it works!
The smell. The conditioner has the same scent as the shampoo which is nice and spearminty. At first, it caught me off guard and I wasn’t in love with the sell, but I enjoy the fresh scent that my just-washed-hair has now.
The pot vs a bottle. Most conditioners come in a squeeze bottle and it feels like you have to squeeze 1/4 of a bottle out to get enough enough for my hair. With this, it’s quick and easy to scoop out what I need and leave what I don’t. If I end up grabbing too much, no biggie - I can just put it back.
It is THICK. It feels more like a hair mask than a conditioner which works really well when you have very thick, coarse hair like mine.

Things I don’t love:

The color. This shampoo is a rusty, almost terracotta color that just doesn’t make sense to me. It’s not something that I look at and think “wow, I can’t wait to slather my hair in that”. Does it really matter? No… But, it does bug me every time I open the pot to use it.
It isn’t quite hydrating enough for my hair. In Clearstem’s defense, I’ve never found a conditioner that is hydrating enough - I always have to use a leave in conditioner. It’s just how my hair is and I’m ok with that. If it were hydrating enough, it would probably be too much for most other people’s hair so I own that this is likely a personal issue. It is very hydrating and moisturizing, I just personally wish it were a bit more.

Conclusion

Clearstem makes my favorite shampoo and conditioner. Compared to conventional hair care, this is the closest thing I’ve found that has ingredients that I feel good about. My hair is shiny, soft, and doesn’t feel like straw unlike when I have tried other clean brands. I foresee my daughter and I using this brand for a while!
